How to improve accuracyUpdated a year ago

To better understand how Moasure ONE’s patented technology works and in order to improve the accuracy of your measurements, we highly recommend taking a look at this article.

In this chapter, you will learn:

  • How to improve the accuracy of your measurements

  • What to do if the next point will take you longer than 6-8 seconds

  • How to know when to take a pause

  • What the error percentage means

  • How the Moasure coach can help you become a Moasure expert

Tips on how to improve the accuracy of your measurements

  1. Move fast in-between pause points

Contrary to popular belief, it’s crucial to move quickly in order to maintain higher accuracy, as with our patented technology the error starts to increase after six to eight seconds

  1. Hold the Moasure STICK effectively

The way you hold the Moasure STICK can have a detrimental impact on the accuracy of your measurements. With that in mind, we recommend holding it lightly between your thumb and first two fingers and keep it vertical as you walk - try to minimise any tilting or rotation of the device.

  1. Pause every 6-8 seconds to capture a point

It’s of high importance to move between a ‘Pause point’ and another within 6-8 seconds in order to maintain the highest level of accuracy for your measurements.

You will notice that once you place the device on a solid surface the LED will turn solid red. This means that the Moasure ONE is capturing a point - the action can take up to 1 second.

Once the point has been captured the LED will turn green, meaning that you can start moving again to the next point to be captured.

What can I do if the next point will take me longer than 6-8 seconds?

If reaching the next point will take you longer than 6-8 seconds, we recommend splitting the measurement into a number of steps, with each one taking less than 6-8 seconds.

Important: you’re allowed to temporarily pause along the way, be it to plan the next point to be captured or just to take a look at your drawing. Just take into account that the device needs to be completely stationary.

How do I know when I need to take a pause?

To help you gauge when to take a pause, the progress bar at the top of the screen shows different colours:

  • Green: up to six seconds.

  • Ambar: from six to eight seconds.

  • Red: after eight seconds.

Please ensure that the progress bar doesn’t go into the red section. Doing so will decrease the level of accuracy for your measurements.

What does the error percentage mean?

The error percentage, which can be found on the left bottom corner of your screen, refers to how close the first and last measuring point are.

  • Below 1%: it means the measurement is accurate.

  • Above 1%: it means it’s likely you can improve your measuring technique.
